Video card for an HP Pavilion Desktop m7790?

Help! I've got this HP desktop that came with video capabilities on the motherboard (so I'm told), and now it's having a problem with that video that is causing the PC not to boot. HP says I need to send it in for service, so I'm looking at 2 weeks without a PC.

So what I'm wondering is, a) what if I just went to Best Buy and picked out a graphics card and installed it -- might that bypass this problem, and b) if so, any recommendations for one that will work in this PC and with Vista?|||Do not screw up and go to best buy for a graphics card. That would be the unpardonable sin. Newegg has the best prices on graphics cards.

For one thing you might as well open up the case and find out which kind of slot you have, PCIEx16 or AGP.

Here is a list of HP computers and find exactly which model you have and go from there. I am thinking you have a PCIEx16 slot but I need the exact model # to be certain.

Nothing is sayign that putting a graphics card is going to do the trick. It could be just as easily a stick of bad ram causing the problem. Their knowledge is as good as mine from here....
