What video card should i get for my Desktop?

what GPU should i get to run modern pc games like Crysis, Bad Company 2, Black Ops and other higher end games on max settings???

what else could i do to the pc to speed it up other then adding a video card???

Specs: 790GXE v6.1(mobo)

Amd 9850 x4 2.50ghz(cpu) (O'Ced to 3.50ghz on air, idle temp 25, full load temp 53)

2GB of ram

Ati HD3300(on-board gpu) (O'Ced to 790mhz from 500mhz)

300 watt power suppy (willing to upgrade)|||You would probably be able to get the full power out of 2x HD 6870s. It will cost you a bit though. Also the HD 5970 is nice. Both of those will run BF: BC2 on max settings and max anti aliasing. in 1920x1080 with an avg of 45-60 FPS.

Oh and yes you will need a 750+W power supply for these cards.|||first off like you said PSU is in need of a major upgrade to a good named PSU

i recommend a corsairs tx650w alot of people dont realise how with PSUs you get what you pay for. this has a 90 plus certification that alot of other cheaper ones dont. the wattage given (in this case 650watts) is the theoretical wattage not that actualy output as power is lost as heat etc. this psu garuntees it will output atleast 90% of 650watts. other PSUs may output alot less

i personally have a ati 6850 hd and am very pleased with it i can run every game i own (crysis, crysis warhead, gta 4, BFBC 2, black ops.... the list goes on) at max settings at a res of 1920 x 1080. i havent got a 3d ready moniter so couldnt tell you what the performance is like for 3d but this card is very very good i can tell you that much.|||To run all games at "max" settings, get at least a 650W supply (or more), and the best video card you can afford...

PS You may have to upgrade your memory a bit too, depending on what OS you have. If running Vista, you could use more memory. Just running WoW on my PC uses about 3.3GB of total memory (I have 12GB). I'm sure higher end games will make use of more...
