Can i have a new video card for my dell inspiron 580 DESKTOP pc?

Yes you can, you need a PCIe card, but you need to check if it requires an external power connection as the PSU on the Dell is not capable of this.

There are several websites that compare ATI and NVidia branded VGA cards who supply the bulk of all VGA cards, and you should have a look and perhaps work out what you need to VGA card to do for you before buying the one with the prettiest picture on the box!

You may want to consider an upgrade of the PSU anyway, most Dell (and many other well known brands) are pretty poor when it comes to the PSU having sufficient power for anything other than the standard hardware they install.|||Sure. Any PCI-express based (the current standard) video card will fit. If you buy a video card that requires its own power connector, you'll have to upgrade the power supply in that computer too.

More simply, the most powerful cards you can put in that computer without a power supply upgrade are the GeForce GT 240 or the Radeon HD 4670 or 5670|||Yes you can. It should have a pcie slot so your good there. Better go to the dell chat and confirm this. The only problem is the power supply is weak. It won't be able to handle any really good graphics card. I would get a new power supply so you can get something pretty good. If not I would just go for something like a 4650.|||sure ! where do i send it? lol yes it can take a diff, card
