Video card for laptop?

ok i have an about 4 year old hp laptop, its a real tank, very powerful and fast, just lacks in battery power and video card...64 mb nvidia geforce 440 go. but anyways, im looking to play like wow bc and elder scrolls oblivian, and i would like to have a better video card. please tell me what you know about the following and what you think would be best for my laptop:

1. a pcmcia video card or some sort of pcmcia video card adapter

2. an external video card, which would be good because i could use on say a desktop

3. or try to get into my laptop and add one which is probably near impossible :)

thanks for your help and let me know if you have tried any of thses and how they work|||i would see if you could replace the card inside cant be that hard.|||the VGA ports on the external card is so you can still use the laptop for docking ports. without it you would not be able to dock your computer. the best bet is whatever you feel most comfortable with. PCMCIA and external bot run fine but you still need to see what the speeds are. also, be careful, some of those cards are for expansion purpose, not internal use, you would use them to add multiple external monitors. your option number 3 would be a bad idea unless you where some kind of super engineers. most Laptops have built in video, so the card is not removable, it is fused with the board, so I would steer clear of that idea.
