i have a desktop pc and its running vista home premium. i have 1 gig of ram but no video card(because the guy i got it from took it out). it still lets me play mmorpg's ya know online games... but it lags sometimes... so should i buy more ram or a video card first..i can only buy one right now.|||I guess that depends on how much money you want to put into a video card and what your system is sporting now.
If you're running a P4 or a dual core, don't waste any money on it. If you want to play games, you want core2dual, core2quad or one of the I7 or I5's.
Based on your system not, a good video card may require a larger power supply - OK he had one in there, but are you going to be satisfied with one of those cards?
On what kind of ram... well one way to check is to pull out a stick and read what it says. Another way is to run Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html and another way is to go here and enter in the system that you have: http://www.ec.kingston.com/ecom/configur…
or course if its a home built computer, you would go by the motherboard model and you can type that into Google as such: ram upgrade __________ (enter motherboard brand and model number) and you will find a number of sites that will want to sell you ram.
