I need some advice on a desktop pc that has •128 MB Video Card with support for Pixel Shader 2.0?

i am in the uk and only have around £500....i need to play sims3 and have to buy new pc to do this so been looking on internet but none of the system deatails mention pixel shader etc..?? anybody know of any pc's that are capable of doing this? please help xx|||Pixel shader is built into video cards when they are manufactured.

When you are out PC shopping look for any of the following (all support Pixel Shader 2.0 or newer)

For comparison, GeForce cards and their ATI equvlents:

GeForce 7000-Radeon 2000

GeForce 8000-Radeon 3000

GeForce 9000-Radeon 4000

GeForce 200 -Radeon 4000 (Higher end models)

GeForce 300 -Radeon 5000

Generally speaking, the higher the model number (I/E GeForce 9800 versus 9600) the better the card.

Shop around and find the best you can get for £500.

As far as the other hardware requirements go, most new computers in the price range you are looking at will meet those with ease. All you really need to worry about is a decent video card. All of the cards I listed come with at least 256mb of memory. Some of the higher end models come with 1gb+.

If you can't find a computer will one of those cards in it, make sure it has a PCI-Express slot. You can add one later.

Sims 3 can run on integrated graphics, but I would run it on some kind of dedicated video card for best results.|||Good news - ALL current PCs, including those with integrated graphics, support Pixel Shader 2.0 (most of them support version 4.0 for that matter) and have at least 256MB of shared memory available.

As far as computer gaming goes, Sims 3 is fairly undemanding as far as system requirements. Any mainstream computer will be able to play Sims 3, where a dedicated video card would be needed to play the more intense 3D graphic games.
