Help with video card for desktop?

I'm trying to get my pc to play Skyrim and when I go to the "Can You Run It?" website I pass every requirement except for the video card. Here's what it says:

Minimum: DirectX 9 compliant video card with 512 MB of RAM (NOTE: This requirement is NOT yet confirmed by Bethesda - NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT & ATI Radeon X1800. Please be advised this may change soon).

You Have: ATI RADEON 9200

So what is a good video card I could buy that is a good value. Also, could you recommend a site that guides the switch for a Sony Vaio. Thanks for the help!|||Well if your computer is running a ATI 9200, that means that it is an AGP slot motherboard... Truthfully I wouldn't waste my money on a AGP card... The best you can get though, is a 4670 HIS card... Your whole computer is going to be the problem as your graphics along with old CPU and ram are just going to be overwhelmed by any new games you throw at them...

A good cheap upgrade would be a i3 2120, a z68 motherboard, along with a 4Gb kit of DDR3 1600, then get something like a 6770 with a 500Watt PSU...|||I would suggest atleast 4GB DDR3 RAM, GTX 550 GRAPHICS CARD.. to run that game.|||rush to your nearest computer hardware shop and purchase new Video card|||Hi steve

i have seen this question so many times it would appear this, new game is more about a more high performance video card than anything so i would suggest as big as you can afford would be the real answer. 1-2 gb ram to be honest because as these games get more memory hungary then you will want to play them.

but please remember this is fine with a desktop where changing a video card is not a problem. but a laptop is another issue altogether different where the whole thing will need to be just sold and a new one bought.

as good as a sony vaio is it will need replacing as it will not have the graphics to deal with some of these games sorry.

you are at the mercy of these games with a laptop that is why a desktop is the best answer to gaming.

so if it is a choice then it is a desktop if you want the best computer to do games on.
