I was wondering what type of video card, that would be compatible with my computer of course, would present the best performance on my computer for games such as Halo and Battlefield 2. Here are my specs:
Manufacturer:
HP Pavilion 06
Processor:
Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.53GHz
Memory:
504MB RAM
Hard Drive:
74 GB
Video Card:
Intel(R) 82845G/GL/GE/PE/GV Graphics Controller
Monitor:
hp pavilion f70
Sound Card:
Realtek AC97 Audio
Operating System:
Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600) Service Pack 2 (2600.xpsp_sp2_gdr.070227-2254)
Also, im not really sure if my computer is PCI-E compatible, but i DO KNOW that it has 3 PCI slots (2 avaliable).
HELP APPRECIATED!|||I have the same pc my vid card died so here's my pick for a new vid card . the agp slot on my mobo is 2.0 so it's a bad idea to go 8x agp im picking a geforce fx5500 128mb 4x/8x get the one with a fan , smaller heatsink only jobs are cheap and sucky when they heat up during 3d games . 256 mb cards are pricey and ain't really going to do all that better since human eyes can only see 30 fps anyways ... But a note on battlefield 2 the dvds for the game and the expasion pack will eat up some serious room on your HD so you might want a bigger one for the newest games . Also Battle field will not even load the menu if your video cardo don't support the new shader / pixel spec requirements so do some research into this before you plunk down any duckets on new game software , most boxed video cards have photos of all three slots so you can tell if if's your flaver of card or not
