Will this Video Card work for my desktop?

I have an Inspiron 531 desktop, everything is still factory in it, and I wanted to put this EVGA GeForce GTX 460 SE card in it. I think that it will fit on my motherboard because it has a PCI Express slot on it but I wasnt sure about the power supply. Here is a link to the video card.

Here is my computer.

Also, the other problem, as you rightly say, might be the Power Supply unit, but it depends how many other items you have plugged into the Computer. If you use external hard drives, USB devices, TV cards etc, these all require power, and will bring down the available power for the graphics card.

If you try it, and experience crashes, especially when playing graphics intensive games, then you will need to upgrade the power supply. This won't be a problem to do at a later stage.|||I recently ran through this with my HP desktop. Given the failure rates of a generic power supply it would be worth replacing with a quality 650-750W if you start upgrading. The existing power supply will be swallowed whole by that GTX 460. Fortunately, replacing the PSU only takes about 5 minutes and is really easy to do. Good luck|||that cards probly going to use your whole psu load by itself your going to wana get at leest a 600w psu but its also not really worth it because your pcie x16 slot is also a old version and you wouldn't really get the full performance of that card i would say stick with a 9800gt if you want nvidia or a ati radion hd 4670
