If you upgrade your video card on a desktop computer, does it add some memory along w/ it?

Ok... we just bought Sims 3 for the pc and we installed it and everything went fine until we loaded it. The video card was "unsuggested" and didn't work with the game. We called Best Buy and they said we just needed more memory... well we bought 1 GB. Anyways we installed it again, and same problem! So I was wondering if I could return the 1GB and buy a video card that adds memory to the computer.|||No, but depending on the video card that you installed on the machine you might want to upgrade the power supply. Only thing that would increase the memory on the machine would be memory.

You should keep the RAM that you purchased because having more RAM is never a bad thing. It only speeds up your machine. I would suggest in returning your video card you purchased and buy one that would properly run the game. It says you need a 128 at least that supports pixel shader. You should browse the web for a list that has that spec and purchase the one for you :)|||Yeah, don't call Best Buy. Call a local techie highschool kid for any computer advice. Return the memory and get a videocard. Make sure you have a PCI express slot first (older computers don't have it), since all new cards are built only for that. It will add video memory to the computer, but the general purpose memory will remain the same.
