i just bought a new HP pavillion slimline s3200n desktop computer, it is one of those small compact computers. i am looking to upgrade it and buy a new video card for it but the regular video cards wont fit. anyone have the same problem or anyone can help me find a small one? thanks.|||There are two things here you need to look into:
1. Does the PC have a strong enough power supply to support an extra video card?
2. What low profile video cards are available?
Here's some information from HP on replacing the video card:
IMPORTANT: Due to the small computer size, you can only install a small, low-profile PCI-E card of the same approximate size of the graphics card. HP recommends that you install a card with power consumption of 25 watts or less.
Not all low-profile cards will fit into the PCI-E slot. Some external connectors, especially connectors located at the top of the card, may not fit properly into the back panel.
So, you need to find a low profile card that uses less than 25W OR you need to upgrade your power supply as well.
Here is a list of low profile cards currently available:

This one seems to be the fastest one available at this time:

It requires a 300W power supply, so make sure that you have that available, or buy one that fits the case. Also, it uses GDDR2, not the faster GDDR3 memory.
And just the set the right expectations: This card won't play any current games (Crysis, Call of Duty 4, etc.) at high resolutions.|||The other option is to buy a bigger case and move everything.|||They have video cards that are half height, theres another part to it to But I can't remember. These are made to fit in smaller cases, BUT, they aren't made to be powerful graphics (like games) they really are just made to give you better graphics for office use (like even an extra monitor) They might make them for games but I doubt it.
When you go small your options are limited when it comes to graphic cards.|||I've already encounter your problem..what i did is to contact the costumer help of the brand of your computer and ask question about upgrading your PC and what size of Video Card fits your PC. i think the company brand of your PC provide a smaller size video card that fits your PC..|||Looks like an ATI Radeon 9200 is in your future....
