My friend has a Gateway GT5428 - Pentium D 935 3.2 GHz and I'm looking to buy a new video card upgrade as a gift for him; i believe right now he has a Radeon x1600 or 1300 pro in there. Are there any nice cheap video card upgrades, for this computer?|||This one is a pretty decent card. Not sure what your budget is, but it's about $100

whichever you choose, go with nvidia|||Depends on your budget. I'd go with the 8600 series, if you can afford it. If you have money to burn, 8800 series is what you want.|||http://www23.tomshardware.com/graphics_2…
That chart shows overall performance in gaming. As you can see I've highlighted both the 1300 and 1600pro cards.
The trick is to find the fastest PCI-ExpressX16 card that is in the ballpark as "cheap" yet can be handled by whatever PSU his Gateway has. A lot of video card upgrades also include a bigger PSU. If hes upgraded the power supply to at least 350watts heres a nice OC'd 8600GT for a little over $90 with shipping.

uhm the new ATI 3850 or ATI 3870 is good..
if your looking for something under 200, then try the 7900 series from Nvidia
